Pro Tips for Ranking Up in Matchmaking in CSGO

I see many CS:GO players asking for advice on increasing matchmaking rank in CS:GO. As a a who manged to rank from Nova 1 up to DMG, today, I’m here to share with you some advice based on my personal gaming experience to try and help some people get better at the game. Here are some tips that I think people at any level can use to help improve. If you don’t have enough time to play the game and rank up, you can try Cheap CS:GO Boost at Boostingvip.com, a professional game boost online store.

Improve your game sense! Strategy is a big part of CS. Knowing when and where to push, when to expect a flank, or when to rotate bombsites is a very complex and sometime intangible skill in CS. The undisputed best way to improve this is simply by playing and spending time learning the maps. When you’re new to the game. I suggest only playing one map at a time until you feel you’ve mastered the timing of the map and the default positions. Play 15 – 20 matches on one map at a time and then move on. It’too big of a task to try and play 7 different maps on a random rotation and expect to improve very quickly. Furthermore, I suggest playing the same position, or at least the same bombsite multiple matches in a row to really feel like you have a good understanding of how it can be played.

Use your radar. If you haven’t already, go ahead and type in cl_radar_scale 0.25 on your console. You should be able to see almost the whole map. It’s important to know where your team is as well as the enemy and bomb position.

Use smokes and flashes effectively. Ever find your team getting absolutely destroyed at a position? Can’t push out Long on D2 T side because there is an AWPer killing you every time? Can’t push banana because a guy at CT or spools is headshooting you into oblivion? Guess what, if you had a smoke to block them off they wouldn’t be relevant anymore. Learn smokes and flashes and use them! You might not have the best aim or the best game sense yet, but you can be just as valuable as a support player.

Learn to communicate effectively. This is a major problem that I see in lower level CS. In order to effectively communicate, I think that you need to incorporate all of the following guidelines: When you make a call, you want to work with facts, not assumptions. CS is a game that relies heavily on information. You want to provide your teammates with all the info you can possibly give them. Meaning, call only what you see and hear.

Watch demos. Download and watch some of your demos, and pay close attention to how you react in different situations. A lot of people are for instance way too aggressive on ct side, and many people tend to over rotate when they hear gunshots on the other bombsite, leaving their bombsite free for the taking. Remember to also look at the rounds where you "succeed". Even though you made a decision that enabled you to make a big play, it doesn’t mean that it was a good one, or that it would work in higher level games.

Use your nades wisely. Knowing all the Eu nades can look really cool, but if you don’t know what your doing, chances are these nades won’t help your team. See if you often manage to flash and damage your opponents, and how often you manage to molly your opponents out of position, or smoke them off. Honestly, Id try to keep it basic with the lineups, and rather learn how to use nades on the fly by flashing for teammates etc. In most ingame situations you wont have the time to line up complicated jumpthrows etc, and mm being as it is, chances are your team wont know how to properly utilize some next level Astralis smoke either.

Last but not the least, practice makes perfect. If you have 5 hours to play every day, spend a large part of that actually practicing. I personally spend more time in private servers, playing deathmatches, watching videos, playing aim_map, etc. than I do actually playing the game. If you want to get better, that's the easiest way to do it.

That’s the end of this guide! Hope it helps!
