Don't fight if you don't have potions. If you kill someone and you're left with 100 HP and no potions, you will die as soon as someone tickles you. What's more, if you don't have potions and the other player does have potions, you'll more than likely lose the fight. It's just not worth the risk to fight when you don't have any potions.
